Synopsis

Seen through the eyes of Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the Moon, Stephen Edwards' dramatic musical re-telling reveals the human side to making history - from the families left behind to the men who tried, and failed, to return to Earth.

The Apollo moon programme has been called the last optimistic act of the 20th century. Twelve men made the longest and most eccentric of all journeys and all were indelibly marked by it.

Of the astronauts who have walked on the Moon, only nine are still alive. One day, in the near future, no-one will know the giddy thrill of gazing back at Earth from another world.

"Moon Landing" looks at how their lives - and ours - were changed forever by this remarkable adventure.
